According to market sources, Mexican petrochemical producer Petroquimica Mexicana de Vinilo, a joint venture between state-owned energy company Pemex and Mexichem, declared forces majeures on VCM, muratic acid, ethylene, dichloroethane and anhydrous hydrogen chloride from its complex in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz following an explosion at the company’s Pajaritos complex.
Mexichem, meanwhile, reportedly stated that they have not declared a force majeure on their PVC output despite some rumors to the contrary in the market.
