According to market sources, spot naphtha prices dropped below the $400/ton threshold in Asia in line with mult-year lows in oil markets.

On Thursday, NYMEX February oil futures continued to lose ground, settling down 70 cents /barrel at $33.27/barrel while ICE February Brent crude was down 48 cents/barrel to settle at $33.75/barrel on Thursday.

Spot naphtha prices in Asia declined around $30-35/ton week over week to be currently reported at around $375-380/ton CFR Japan. Weekly average prices on ChemOrbis Price Wizard showed that Asian spot naphtha prices last fell this low in late August 2015.

In Europe, meanwhile, naphtha prices are currently reported at around $360/ton CIF ARA, down about $15/ton from a week earlier.
