New passenger car sales in EU rise 2.9% in Oct

According to the European auto manufacturers’ association (ACEA), new passenger car registrations rose for the 26th consecutive month in the European Union in October. On a yearly basis, registrations rose 2.9% to 1,104,868 cars. New registrations were also up in the first ten months of this year by 8.2% to more than 11.5 million units.

Across the region, the largest increase was seen in Italy (+8.6%) in October while it was followed by Spain (+5.2%), Germany (+1.1%) and France (+1.0%). However, new passenger car registrations in the UK declined 1.1% in October.
