November PE, PP offers move down in East Africa
Buyers noted that new offers came in line with their expectations as trading activity remains below average. According to media sources, the Kenyan shilling slid to fresh low over the past week while higher fuel costs pushed transport and electricity prices higher. All these factors have hindered the purchasing activity further.
November offers suggest $20/ton decreases on a monthly basis, currently standing at $1050-1060/ton for LDPE, $970-990/ton for LLDPE, $950-970/ton for HDPE film, $980-1000/ton for HDPE b/m and inj., $1070-1080/ton for PPBC, $1100-1110/ton for PPRC, $990-1010/ton for PPH raffia and inj., $1030-1050/ton for PPH film and fibre., all on a CFR Kenya, 90 days basis.
