According to media reports, Nigeria’s Petroleum Minister said that some members of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) plan to meet with oil producers in Russia around March 20 to discuss a possible output freeze. The Minister reported that their target is to push oil prices back to around $50/barrel.

Previously, Russia’s Minister of Energy Alexander Novak had reported that the discussions on a preliminary deal to freeze oil output by leading oil producing countries would reach a conclusion by March 1.
