October propylene contract settles in US

According to market sources, an initial October propylene contract was agreed in the US with a 1.5 cents/lb ($33/ton) increases over September at 48 cents/lb ($1058/ton) for polymer-grade and 45.5 cents/lb ($1003/ton) for chemical-grade propylene, all FD USG.
The outcome of the initial contract defied the expectations that called for a settlement between a decrease and an increase of 1 cent/lb ($22/ton).
Players attributed the increases to lower inventories and higher propane prices.
