According to media reports, Kuwait’s Oil & Petrochemicals Industries Workers Confederation said in a statement that an oil worker strike launched by Kuwaiti oil and gas workers 3 days ago in response to a government proposal to cut pay and benefits of public sector employees has ended, adding that they would spare no efforts to return production to its previous level.

Kuwait’s crude oil production reached around 1.5 million barrels per day (bpd) yesterday after softening to 1.1 million bpd on Sunday from an average of 2.8 million bpd in March. Kuwait’s Oil Minister Anas al-Saleh said production would continue and that no negotiations would be possible during the strike.
