PTTGC purchases land for ethane cracker in US

According to media reports, Thailand’s state-owned PTT Global Chemical pcl (PTTGC) purchased about 170-acre land for its ethane cracker in Belmont, the US for $13.8 million from FirstEnergy Corp after applying for a purchasing option last summer.
Reports also revealed that the new ethane cracker complex will be able to produce 1 million tons/year of ethylene, 700,000 tons/year of HDPE, 500,000 tons/year of MEG and 100,000 tons/year of ethylene oxide.
