According to a market source in Europe, the force majeure on PVC and VCM was lifted by Ineos from the company’s Wilhelmshaven, Germany plant. Force majeure was first declared on April 21 due to a problem at the company’s VCM unit. A production problem reportedly caused the company to completely shut down the VCM unit.

Ineos’ PVC capacity at Wilhelmshaven is reported to be 370,000 tons/year and the VCM capacity is estimated to be around 400,000 tons/year.
