According to market sources, Poland’s Grupa Lotos decided to postpone its project to build a petrochemical plant at its 10.5 million tons/year Gdansk refinery. The plant is a joint venture between Lotos and Polish chemical producer Grupa Azoty and has an estimated value of a Zloty 12 billion ($3.28 billion). The company cited volatile market conditions as the main reason behind their decision.

In December 2013, the two companies had agreed to conduct a feasibility study for the project which was aimed to feed Azoty’s chemical segment.
