According to a publication on the Official Journal of the European Union on July 11, the European Commission imposed provisional antidumping measures on imports of suspension polyvinylchloride (S-PVC) originating from Egypt and the US. The duties started as of July 12 and will apply for six months.

Compared to the figures pre-disclosed on June 14, the rate of antidumping duty imposed on Egyptian PVC was unchanged while US origins witnessed small reductions except for Westlake.

Accordingly, Egypt’s EPC and TCI Sanmar are subjected to provisional duties of 100.1% and 74.2% respectively while duties of 100.1% are imposed to all other companies from Egypt.

When it comes to US producers, Formosa Plastics Corporation is subject to a duty of 70.3%, marginally down from the previously announced provisional duty of 71.1%. Likewise, Oxy Vinyls and Shintech’s cargos are both subjected to an antidumping duty of 62.1%, slightly down from the 63.7% duty revealed on June 14while all other US companies are liable of a duty of 77%, again down from 78.5% from the June provision. Meanwhile, Westlake formed the only exception, being contingent upon a duty of 58%, unchanged from the June provision.
