Rise in Taiwan’s Nov exports exceeds estimations

According to media reports, Taiwan’s exports climbed up in November for the second month in a row. Data from the Ministry of Finance showed that exports posted a big increase of 12.1% on a yearly basis in November, from the 9.4% in October, and beat the economists’ forecasts which called for an increase of 9.3%.

Parts of electronic products as well as the parts of base metals and articles of base metals made the largest contribution to the increase in exports by 26.9% and 15.5% year-on-year respectively.

Meanwhile, imports were also up by 3.0% annually in November, staying below the forecasts which suggested an increase of 6%.
