According to media reports, Russia and Iran are in talks to sign industrial export deals valued at more than $21 billion for the anticipated post-sanctions period. At the beginning of this week, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin will visit Iran for the first time in eight years in order to strengthen political and economic ties between the two countries. Iran’s economy is expected to grow rapidly once economic sanctions are lifted on the back of a significant number of planned new investments from all over the world.

In 2014, trade between Russia and Iran totaled $1.6 billion while it is expected to reach $10 billion within the next few years.
