According to a source close to the company, Russia’s Lukoil Stavrolen has resumed propylene production at its facility after an extended absence from the market stemming from a fire which broke out at the plant in February 2014. The plant has previously been using imported to propylene to run its PP units. Lukoil Stavrolen has reportedly resumed manufacturing propylene, which is currently being fed to the facility’s PP units.

In addition, the facility has also reportedly resumed ethylene production and is now said to be conducting test runs at its PE units. Traders reported that HDPE film grade from the test runs is now being offered at RUB88000/ton FD Moscow, Russia, cash inc VAT ($1351/ton without VAT).

Lukoil Stavrolen’s facility is able to produce 130,000 tons/year of PP and 300,000 tons/year of PE.
