Russian PVC forms competitive edge in Turkey

In Turkey, import PVC prices have been on an increasing trend since the middle of January in line with other global markets. Recently, the bullish trend has received additional support from tight supplies from Europe. On the other hand, among dutiable origins, Russian PVC k67 offers form a competitive option despite the gains they recorded.

According to the market participants, apart from unsupportive demand, competitive Russian offers are keeping the rising trend in check. Meanwhile, converters hope to see an improvement in end business next month though due to the approaching high season for several PVC applications.

Even though prices for Russian materials have increased too, they are still forming the low end of the k67 range in the import market. Russian k67 was traded at $950-960/ton on FCA Turkey, subject to 6.5% customs duty, cash, slightly firmer on the week, which comes at around $910-920/ton on CIF, cash basis.

Import k67 offers for other dutiable origins, including American and Brazilian cargos, stand at $940-950/ton CIF Turkey, cash equivalent; subject to 6.5% customs duty and 18.81% ADD if applicable. The most recent range for duty-free European range, meanwhile, is reported at $990-1000/ton CIF, cash, seeing little interest from buyers.
