According to media reports, South Korea is planning to reshape its petrochemical sector by making an increase in the terephthalic acid, polystyrene, butadiene rubber, styrene butadiene rubber and PVC supply. The country is also planning to use different commerce strategies such as “online-to-offline” commerce, which indicates identifying customers in the online space through e-mails and advertisement and then attracting them to the offline market, in order to improve the efficiency of the production in the sector.

The reports indicated that South Korea’s plans also include expanding their exports to markets such as Latin America and Africa as well as cooperating with countries which produce oil in the Middle East in order to boost competitiveness in terms of raw materials.

The country is reported to make more investments in research and development in chemistry and to create new industrial sectors.
