According to market sources, South Korea’s SK Global Chemical (SKGC) is planning to resume production at its 1.3 million tons/year PX plant at Incheon. The company is expected to restart its plant in the H2 of October following an annual turnaround that lasted for a month.

Sources also reported that South Korea’s Ulsan Aromatics, a joint venture between SKGC and Japan’s JX Nippon Oil and Energy, is going to shut its aromatics plant at Ulsan in November for an annual turnaround. The plant has a production capacity of 1 million tons/year of PX and 500,000 tons/year of benzene. The shutdown is expected to last almost 30-40 days.
