According to market sources, South Korea’s Yeochun Naphtha Cracking Center is planning to shut its butadiene extraction unit for a scheduled maintenance. The maintenance on the 220,000 tons/year butadiene extraction unit is expected to start in May, 2017 and last for three to four weeks.

The company has three naphtha crackers at the same location, which are used to supply crude C4 feedstock to the butadiene extraction unit. Currently, they are not expected to be offline for maintenance in 2017, sources said.
