A trader in Malaysia reported that a Southeast Asian producer has revised its July prices up by $20/ton for LDPE and PPRC injection, by $30/ton for PPBC injection and by $40/ton for homo-PP compared to the previous month.
The producer’s new prices currently stand at $1270/ton for LDPE film, $1310/ton for LDPE injection, $1340/ton for LDPE coating, $1100/ton for PP injection, $1210/ton for PP block copolymer injection and at $1220/ton for PP random copolymer injection, all on a DAP Malaysia, cash basis.
A buyer in the Philippines also reported receiving new LDPE offers from its Southeast Asian supplier with similar hikes at $1270/ton CIF, cash. “This level is too high to be accepted for now in the import market. There is a wide gap between this offer and the other offers in the market,” he said.
The overall LDPE market was reported at $1160-1270/ton CIF Southeast Asia, cash equivalent, implying a weekly increase of $50/ton on the high end. The low end was formed by dutiable Middle Eastern offers while other duty-free offers were reported in the range of $1190-1250/ton with the same terms.
As for homo PP injection and raffia, the overall PP injection and raffia range was slightly firmer at $1010-1180/ton CIF SEA, cash equivalent. Likewise, the low end was formed by Middle Eastern and Chinese origins, although some argued that those levels were not obtainable anymore.
