SK Advanced and PolyMirae award contract for new PP plant
As part of the contract, the company will execute the engineering, procurement and construction works for the joint venture’s new 400,000 tons/year plant.
The construction is set to begin in the first quarter of 2019 and the $350.6 million project is expected to start commercial operations in the first half of 2021.
SK Advanced is a joint venture between South Korea’s SK Gas Co. and Saudi Advanced Petrochemical’s Advanced Global Investment Co. (AGIC). The company currently operates a 600,000 tons/year propylene plant in Ulsan, South Korea.
PolyMirae, a joint venture between LyondellBasell and South Korean Daelim, has four PP lines with a total capacity of 700,000 tons/year in Yeosu, South Korea.
