Saudi Arabia’s PetroRabigh shuts ethane cracker on malfunction

According to media reports, Saudi Arabia’s Rabigh Refining and Petrochemical Co (PetroRabigh), a joint venture between Japan’s Sumitomo Chemical and Saudi Aramco, shut its ethane cracker because of a problem with its turbine generator. In a report to the stock market, the company said the shutdown started on Tuesday of this week.

The company did not specify an exact restart date for the cracker.
