Saudi Sadara Chemical to begin PE production in Jubail

Saudi Arabia’s Sadara Chemical, a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Dow Chemical, is en route to launch its petrochemical complex in Jubail Industrial City, Saudi Arabia by the end of the year. The company is initially planning to begin PE production at the new petrochemical complex, with the start up of a 350,000 tons/year LDPE line and two LLDPE lines with a total production capacity of 750,000 tons/year.

The complex also houses a 220,000 tons/year metallocene polyolefin elastomer plant, a cracker as well as aromatics and polyurethanes units. The complex is estimated to reach full operations by the end of 2016.
