Saudi Sharq to conduct maintenance at MEG plant

According to market sources, Saudi Arabia’s Sharq is planning to bring its No.4 MEG plant in Al-Jubail offline for a scheduled maintenance. The exact date of the shutdown has not been set yet while sources expect it to be either in October or November. The plant is expected to remain offline for around one month for a catalyst change.
The company’s No 4 MEG plant has a production capacity of 700,000 tons/year. Sharq also operates three other MEG plants in the same location with No 1 and No 2 plants having 450,000 tons/year capacity, each. The No 3 MEG plant produces 500,000 tons/year.
