According to market sources, Saudi International Petrochemical (Sipchem) has started commercial runs at the International Polymers Company’s ethyl vinyl acetate (EVA) and LDPE plant at its Jubail petrochemicals complex, which is joint venture between Sipchem and South Korea’s Hanwha Chemicals. Sipchem owns a 75% stake in IPC while the rest belongs to Hanwha Chemicals.

The construction of SAR3 billion ($800 million) plant was completed in September 2013 and the plant, which has a combined EVA/LDPE production capacity of 200,000 tons/year, had been launched in July 2014.
