According to media reports, Saudi Arabia’s PetroRabigh, a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Japan’s Sumitomo Chemical, has fully started its ethane cracker following an expansion. The cracker’s production capacity increased to 1.6 million tons/year after the completion of an expansion project.

The company also reported that the expanded cracker will help the company raise their revenues by around 750 million riyals ($200 million) this year depending on feedstock availability.

In the first quarter of this year, PetroRabigh posted a net loss of 32.7 million riyals ($8.7 million) due to lower sales volumes.
