Second August propylene contract nominated in US
by ChemOrbis Editorial Team - content@chemorbis.com
According to market sources, a second propylene contract for August was nominated in the US with a higher increase of 4 cents/lb ($88/ton) at 37.5 cents/lb ($827/ton) for polymer-grade propylene from an initial nomination which called for a 2.5 cent/lb ($55/ton) hike from July.
Initial market expectations called for an increase of 1-2 cents/lb from July due to stronger spot prices stemming from satisfactory demand from downstream markets and lower supply levels. Sources reported that unexpected shutdowns resulted in a decrease in supply levels.
