According to market sources, September propylene contracts settled in the US. The new propylene contract was reportedly agreed with an increase of $154/ton (7 cent/lb) from August at $1025/ton (46.5 cents/lb) FD USG for polymer-grade propylene and at $990/ton (45 cents/lb) for chemical grade.

The increases were mainly attributed to disruptions from Hurricane Harvey in the US Gulf Coast.

Meanwhile, spot polymer-grade propylene prices in the US were reported at around $990-1062/ton (45.00-48.25 cents/lb) FD USG as of the end of last week, up by $198-203.5/ton (9.00-9.25 cents/lb) from a week earlier.
