According to a source close to the company, Prime Evolue Singapore, a joint venture between Mitsui and Prime Polymer, shut its mLLDPE plant in Jurong Island due to a lack of ethylene supply stemming from Shell’s force majeure from its production site in Bukom Island, Singapore. Shell’s Bukom steam cracker is able to produce 960,000 tons/year of ethylene.

Prime Evolue’s mLLDPE plant on Jurong Island has a production capacity of 300,000 tons/year.
