According to data from trade agency International Enterprise (IE) Singapore, the country’s exports slumped in February, with non-oil domestic exports (NODX) declining by 9.7% on a yearly basis in February after increasing 4.3% in the previous month. The decline was mostly attributed to shorter working days stemming from the Chinese New Year holiday in February.

The data showed that the country’s electronics exports declined 12.5% on the year compared with a gain of 5% in January while non-electronic exports also slumped 8.5% after increasing 4% in the previous month. The report showed that petrochemical exports from the country dipped 30.9% while exports of primary chemicals fell 24.3%.
