According to market sources, South Korea’s Hanwha Total Petrochemical is planning to shut its 400,000 tons/year No. 1 styrene monomer plant at Daesan at the end of April or the beginning of May, 2017 due to a planned maintenance.

The maintenance is expected to last about 20 days. The sources reported that the company will not make any maintenance in 2016.

A turnaround was carried out at the company’s No. 2 styrene plant with 650,000 tons/year production capacity at Daesan in September.
