According to media reports, South Korea’s Hyosung has begun building a new PP plant at its Yongyeon 1 plant site in Ulsan. The construction of the plant is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2017 and the plant is slated to have a production capacity of 200,000 tons/year. The estimated investment value of the plant was reported at KRW150 billion ($129 million).

Hyosung already produces 300,000 ton/year of PP at the same site and decided to build a new PP plant in accordance with the decision to expand the capacity of their planned propane dehydrogenation (PDH) plant at the same site.
