In Turkey, new ABS prices for March shipment cargos were announced with hikes from South Korea compared to the most recent February levels. Two traders confirmed paying increases ranging between $50-100/ton while replacing their stocks, saying that their suppliers were not eager to give much ground citing rising styrene costs in Asia.

“We paid $60/ton increases to replace natural and black grades from our South Korean supplier. We already have some stocks for white grade on hand,” a trader said. A second trader reported, “Our South Korean supplier revealed increases of $130/ton for natural and $50/ton for colored grades for March. The producer was not willing to compromise much on their offers and we could only obtain a $30/ton discount for natural. We purchased some material in order not to face a lack of supply.”

South Korean origins stand at $1200-1250/ton for ABS natural CIF Turkey, cash. ABS white prices were reported to be at $1440-1550/ton with the same terms with a deal at the low end. ABS black grade was sold at $1390/ton.

In feedstock news, spot styrene prices increased by $95/ton on an FOB Korea basis since the start of February. Butadiene costs soared by around $215/ton with the same terms throughout the month. As for ACN, prices were down $40/ton on CFR Far East Asia basis.
