Spain’s Novapet to restart its PET line in Barbastro

According to market sources, Spain’s Novapet is planning to restart its No 2 PET line at its Barbastro site by the end of the year once the ongoing planned maintenance ends. The maintenance had started in the third week of September and was originally expected to last 45 days.
The Barbastro site has three PET plants. The No 1 line has a production capacity of 30,000 tons/year, the No 2 line can produce 100,000 tons/year while the No 3 line can produce 130,000 tons/year.
The PET production capacity of the No 2 line represents 3% of the EU’s total PET production capacity, which is around 3 million tons/year.
