Taiwan’s CPC declares aromatics force majeure

According to market sources, Taiwan’s CPC has declared a force majeure on aromatics output from its facility in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The force majeure was declared following reports that some of the facility’s pipelines had been damaged.

The lines are currently undergoing safety inspections in cooperation with local authorities and the plant is scheduled to be restarted after the completion of safety tests.
CPC’s number 3 aromatics unit can be produce 27,000 tons/year of benzene, 130,000 tons/year of toluene and 140,000 tons/year of isomer-grade mixed xylenes.
