According to market sources, Taiwan’s Formosa Chemicals & Fibre Corp. will shut its No.1 and No.2 styrene plants in Mailiao in early September for maintenance. The plants have production capacities of 250,000 tons/year and 350,000 tons/year, respectively. The plants are expected to be offline for around 30 days.

Meanwhile, the company delayed maintenance plans at its 600,000 tons/year No.3 styrene plant, which was originally scheduled to shut for a 40 day maintenance on September 1, at the same site to the third quarter of 2016, according to sources.
