According to sources close to the company, some Asian producers are planning to shut their styrene plants due to planned maintenance in the first half of 2017.

Taiwan’s Grand Pacific Petrochemical Corporation is planning to shut its 380,000 tons/year styrene plant for maintenance in March. The plant is expected to remain shut for a month.

The sources also reported that Japan’s Denka is planning a maintenance work on its 270,000 tons/year styrene plant in May, that is expected to last until June.
