In the United Republic of Tanzania, a converter manufacturing raffia products reported receiving new May PP and PE prices from different Saudi Arabian producers with increases. According to the buyer, the producer’s PP prices indicate $60-80/ton increases and their PE prices are $30-40/ton firmer when compared to April levels.

The buyer received Saudi PP raffia and injection at $1110-1120/ton while they got LDPE and LLDPE film at $1300/ton on a CFR Dar es Salam, United Republic of Tanzania, 90 days deferred payment basis.

“In general, PP supplies are restricted in the country while demand is good due to the high season. We anticipate the high season to continue until the end of September, but given more or less stable crude oil prices as well as slowing global demand, especially in China, we are not expecting further increases for the upcoming term,” he added.
