Thailand’s PTT Global Chemical plans to shut cracker in Q1 2017

According to market sources, Thai PTT is planning to shut its ethane-based cracker located at Pa Daeng in March 2017. The company’s cracker will be offline for 18 days from 8th March 2017. It is a last-minute decision on the maintenance due to instruments problem on the cracker, sources commented. The cracker has a production capacity of 1 million tons/year.
Meanwhile, the company is also planning to shut its No 2 mixed-feed cracker from May to June 2017. The cracker with a capacity of 700,000 tons/year is expected remain offline for 40 days.
