Thailand’s PTT Global to launch new cracker by 2020

According to market sources, Thailand’s PTT Global Chemical is planning to launch its new cracker in Map Ta Phut by 2020. The new cracker is a part of a $4.5 billion project at its Map Phut site and will reportedly use naphtha as feedstock.
The cracker is expected to have a production capacity of 500,000 tons/year of ethylene and 261,000 tons/year of propylene.
PTT Global is also planning to commission its new 300,000 tons/year metallocene LLDPE plant at Map Ta Phut in the first quarter of 2018.
