Third force majeure declaration on PVC supplies in US
Mexichem became the third producer that issued force majeure after Harvey as it followed the force majeure declaration of QxyChem both from Deer Park and Pasadena, Texas on August 31. Even before Qxy, Formosa had declared force majeure on PVC as well as its PP, PE and chlor-alkali supplies from Point Comfort. Formosa owns a 736,000 tons/year chlor-alkali plant, a 753,000 tons/year of EDC/VCM plant and a 798,000 tons/year of PVC plant at its Point Comfort Texas.
