Turkey Freight Rate Update

Freight rates from China and Southeast Asia to the Turkish market have been announced with significant increases for September, according to MTS Izmir. The new rates will be in effect from September 5 until September 19, 2015.

When compared to the most recent adjustments, rates from both China to Turkey and Southeast Asia to Turkey rose by $600/container for 20’ containers and $1200-1250/container for 40’ containers. Rates from India to Turkey, meanwhile, were steady after the most recent adjustment.

Rates from Northwest and Southern Europe to Turkey were stable. For shipments to Turkey from the Middle East, US and Egypt, rates were unchanged.

The following freight rates per container were reported effective as of September 5, 2015 and contain all applicable costs such as bunker adjustment fees (baf) and currency adjustment fees (caf):

The abovementioned freight rates are valid until September 19, 2015. Price ranges for geographical regions are due to freight variations depending on the port.
