Turkey Freight Rate Update

Freight rates from China and Southeast Asia to the Turkish market have been revised for the third time in September, according to MTS Izmir. The new rates will be in effect from September 15 until September 19, 2015, while new rates for shipments from US will be effective until September 30.

When compared to the most recent adjustments, rates from both China and Southeast Asia to Turkey kept steady for 20’ containers while they were down by $200/container and $150-200/container, respectively for 40’ containers. Rates from India to Turkey, meanwhile, were stable after the most recent adjustment.

Rates from Northwest and Southern Europe to Turkey were stable. For shipments to Turkey from the Middle East and Egypt, rates were also unchanged; however, rates from the US fell by $250-300/container for 40’ containers.

The following freight rates per container were reported effective as of September 15, 2015 and contain all applicable costs such as bunker adjustment fees (baf) and currency adjustment fees (caf):

The abovementioned freight rates are valid until September 19, 2015. Price ranges for geographical regions are due to freight variations depending on the port.
