Turkey Freight Rate Update

Freight rates from China and Southeast Asia to the Turkish market have been announced with increases for the first half of June, according to MTS Izmir. The new rates will be in effect from June 1 until June 14, 2016.

When compared to the most recent adjustments, freight rates for shipments from China increased $300/container for 20’ containers and by $400/container for 40’ containers. Freight rates from Southeast Asia also increased $300/container for 20’ containers and $400/container for 40’ containers. Rates from India to Turkey remained unchanged.

Rates from Northwest and Southern Europe to Turkey were stable. Rates for shipments to Turkey from the Middle East and the USA were also unchanged.

The following freight rates per container are effective as of June 1, 2016 and contain all applicable costs such as bunker adjustment fees (baf) and currency adjustment fees (caf):

The abovementioned freight rates are valid until June 14, 2016. Price ranges for geographical regions are due to freight variations depending on the port.
