Turkey Freight Rate Update

Freight rates from China and Southeast Asia to the Turkish market have been announced with decreases, according to MTS Izmir. The new rates will be in effect from March 8 until March 31, 2017.

When compared to the rates in early March, freight rates for shipments from China decreased $100/container for 20’ containers while they decreased $275/container for 40’ containers on the low end and $300/container on the high end. Freight rates from Southeast Asia also decreased by $100/container for 20’ containers while they also decreased $225/container for 40’ containers on the low end and $250/container on the high end. Rates from India to Turkey remained unchanged.

Rates from Northwest and Southern Europe to Turkey were stable. Rates for shipments to Turkey from the Middle East and the USA were also unchanged.

The following freight rates per container are effective as of March 8, 2017 and contain all applicable costs such as bunker adjustment fees (baf) and currency adjustment fees (caf):

The abovementioned freight rates are valid until March 31, 2017. Price ranges for geographical regions are due to freight variations depending on the port.
