Turkey Freight Rate Update

Freight rates from China and Southeast Asia to the Turkish market have been reduced for August, according to MTS Izmir. The new rates will be in effect from August 21 until August 31, 2017.

When compared to the rates early in August, freight rates for shipments from China were down by $300/container on both ends for 20’ containers, while they were down by $100/container for 40’ containers. Freight rates from Southeast Asia were also down $300/container for 20’ containers and $100/ton for 40’ containers. Rates from India to Turkey remained unchanged.

Rates from Northwest and Southern Europe to Turkey were stable. Rates for shipments to Turkey from the Middle East and the USA were also unchanged.

The following freight rates per container are effective as of August 21, 2017 and contain all applicable costs such as bunker adjustment fees (baf) and currency adjustment fees (caf):

The abovementioned freight rates are valid until August 31, 2017. Price ranges for geographical regions are due to freight variations depending on the port.
