According to a decree published on Turkey’s Official Gazette on December 10, 2018, additional customs duties ranging from 10% to 30% have been imposed on the top of existing customs duties on certain goods entering the country.

The wide-ranging list includes articles of tubes, pipes, and hoses, and fittings made of PVC, paper and paperboard, granite and marble blocks or tiles, reception apparatus for television, toys, games and sports equipment.

The additional customs duties will affect products that are of preferential origin in accordance with the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) of Turkey, as well as goods originating in the least developed countries, developed countries and other countries.

The additional duties shall enter into force on the day of the publication. However, there is an exception for loaded cargo with a way-bill before the publication date on the condition that the bill of entry will be issued within 45 days after the publication date of the decree.
