Turkey’s capacity utilization steady at around three-year low

Turkey’s capacity utilization rate of manufacturing industry remained stable at its lowest level in more than three years in December, according to data from the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey.
The capacity utilization rate was unchanged from the previous month at 74.1%, the lowest rate since March 2015.
Turkey’s capacity utilization rates for durable and non-durable goods inched down by 0.2% to 69.6% and by 1% to 73.4%, respectively. Capacity utilization rates for consumer goods were also down slightly by 0.8% to 72.8%, while the food and beverage sector decreased by 1.7% to 72.5% during the month.
The capacity utilization rate was unchanged from the previous month at 74.1%, the lowest rate since March 2015.
