Turkey’s home sales extend slide in April

According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), Turkey’s home sales decreased by 18.1% in April compared to the same month of the previous year and became 84,403.

House sales have been retreating since August 2018.

Istanbul had the highest share of home sales with 18.3% and 15,481 sold house, followed by Ankara (8.9%) with 7,519 units and Izmir (5.7%) with 4,797 units.

First house sales had a 39.6% share of all house sales in Turkey with 33,443 sold units, down markedly by 29.6% from the same period of 2018. Istanbul recorded the highest number of new home sales with 6,424 units, followed by 2,429 new sales in Ankara and 1,900 in Izmir.
