Turkey’s home sales increase in Jan

According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), Turkey’s home sales rose by 12.8% and stood at 95,389 units in January compared with the same month of 2016.
Istanbul had the highest share of home sales at 16.6% with 15,807 units, followed by Ankara (11.2%) with 10,686 units and Izmir (5.9%) with 5,665 units.
New home sales held a 46.4% share of Turkey’s total house sales in January with 44,235 units, up 10.4% from the same period of 2016. Istanbul recorded the highest number of new home sales with 7,774 units, followed by 3,972 new sales in Ankara and 2,333 in Izmir.
