Turkey’s home sales rise 7% in February

According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey’s home sales rose 7% to 101,703 units in February compared with the same month of 2015.Istanbul had the highest share of home sales at 17.8% with 18,142 units, followed by Ankara with 10,694 units (10.5%) and Izmir with 6,480 units (6.4%). The smallest number of home sales, meanwhile, was recorded in Ardahan with 3 units.

New home sales held a 46.6% share of Turkey’s total home sales in February with 47,409 units, up 16.6% from the same month of 2015. Istanbul recorded the highest number of new home sales with 8,227 units, followed by 4,150 new sales in Ankara and 3,382 units in Izmir.
